Itinerary Overview

Day 1 | Arrival & Orientation Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), our representative will transfer you to your hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool or exploring the local town. In the evening, join your Nature Navigators guide for a comprehensive orientation and gear check to ensure you are fully prepared for the ascent.

Day 2 | The Ascent Begins: Momella to Miriakamba (2,500m) After an early breakfast, we transfer to the Momella Gate. While our porters organize the equipment, we register with TANAPA. Accompanied by an armed park ranger, your trek begins as a walking safari. Pass through open woodlands where elephants and antelope roam, visit a hidden waterfall, and cross the Ngarenanyuki River.

• Trekking Time: 4–5 Hours | Distance: 10 km
• Accommodation: Miriakamba Hut

Day 3 | The Ridge Walk: Miriakamba to Saddle Hut (3,500m) Today’s trek follows a steep trail along the saddle ridge. As you gain altitude, the forest thins, revealing spectacular views of the Meru Crater. After arriving at Saddle Hut, you have the option for an acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m). We serve an early dinner to allow for maximum rest before the midnight summit push.

• Trekking Time: 3–4 Hours | Distance: 5 km
• Accommodation: Saddle Hut

Day 4 | The Summit Push: Socialist Peak (4,562m) & Descent Your summit attempt begins at midnight. We climb to Rhino Point (3,800m) and navigate the dramatic ash and rock ridge to Cobra Point. The final hour is a steep push to the summit of Meru Peak. Witness a legendary sunrise with Kilimanjaro floating above the clouds. We then descend back to Saddle Hut for brunch before continuing down to Momella Gate for your transfer back to the hotel.

Day 5 | Departure Enjoy a final leisurely breakfast and a well-deserved rest. We provide a private transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home or your next destination.

Expedition Logistics

Fitness & Preparation: This is a moderate-to-high difficulty trek. We recommend a high level of physical fitness and prior hiking experience. High-altitude acclimatization is key; we suggest drinking 4+ liters of water daily and monitoring your body’s response to altitude.
