Coffee & Banana tour

A coffee and banana tour in Arusha is an immersive farm-to-cup and farm-to-table experience that takes you into the lush foothills around Mount Meru and nearby villages, where smallholder farmers grow Arabica coffee under the shade of thriving banana plants. Guests walk through green plantations, learn how coffee is planted, tended, harvested, dried, roasted, and ground by hand, and then prepare and taste a freshly brewed cup made using traditional methods. Along the way, the tour reveals how intercropping coffee with bananas sustains families, protects the soil, and supports the local ecosystem in northern Tanzania. Many tours also include interactive cultural elements such as joining a local coffee ceremony, sampling home-cooked dishes made from bananas and other farm produce, and, in some itineraries, tasting banana beer or banana wine produced by village artisans. Depending on the route, guests may combine the farm visit with a short hike to a nearby waterfall or views of Mount Kilimanjaro, creating a relaxed day of nature, flavor, and community connection just outside Arusha city
